Fifty Shades...of Chicken

{order your copy here}

Ok, for all of you who devoured E.L. James's Fifty Shades of Grey series, here's another one for you...
F.L. Fowler's Fifty Shades of Chicken. Uh-huh, a cook book. A genuine cookbook, but also a parody combining the sexual and the culinary. Intriguing to say the least. It's a parody in three acts, "The Novice Bird" (easy recipes for roasters), "Falling to Pieces" (parts perfect for weeknight meals), and "Advanced Techniques" (the climax of cooking). The official website for the book opens with a large banner across the top with the title "Dominate Dinner". And the description..."A young free-range chicken, A dominating ravenous chef, Fifty recipes to make every dinner a turn-on..."

There's a book trailer video on the website with a great looking shirtless male specimen wearing a white apron hanging from his hips just so over a pair of jeans. A sexy male voice-over describes what he is about to do with the bird he is preparing to cook. As BonAppetit.com points out, “Like any good parody, this manages to make fun of both the flabby porn of "Fifty Shades" and the gushing language of "food porn…”. If you've read the Grey series, you will appreciate the humor and play on words. Who knew there were so many sexual innuendos involved in cooking?  This read takes cooking and food to a whole new level.

Fifty Shades of Chicken is the epitome of food porn. The smutty recipe titles only add to the entertainment value and don't seem to diminish the glowing reviews in the slightest. This book has been described as "lavishly illustrated" with "glossy cookbook pictures and tasteful food erotica". Many are praising the high quality of this book, not to mention the recipes. They are legit and sound pretty tasty from the excerpts I have read. Great gift for a friend who couldn't get enough of Christian and all his fifty shades. Some are even presenting this little gem as a wedding gift. That's one way to spice things up.
